Today, we took the bus from Beijing to a section of the Great Wall north of the city a couple of hours.
The Wall is an incredible feat of ancient engineering and construction, running up and down the mountain ridges.
Some parts of the wall are very steep. It's a tough walk.
On the way back to Beijing, we visited the Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) are buried. There are quite a few buildings as well as a big hill which apparently contains the tombs.
The timber frame construction is massive.
For dinner we had Peking Roast Duck at a restaurant before returning to our hotel.
